THE DRAG-ON
(To the tune of "The Dragon," from the Kerry Livgren album Collector's Sedition)

The networks now have blown it; the race too close to call
Now the drag-on is extended far beyond the voting stall
When margins fall and crumble, and courts define the truth,
The drag-on, through its lawsuits, will masquerade as proof

Now some will stand for honor, and others call for peace
But most will vie in hatred as the drag-on is increased
And some men fight for Dubya, while others rise for Al
But the drag-on will consume them no matter their locale

When the numbers are frozen, the drag-on will cease
'Til the winner is chosen, we'll never find peace

Although he bares his passion, his heart is wooden still
To the White House he is beckoned by the legacy of Bill
Opinion polls are raging; there's nowhere left to flee
'Til he's driven from the Beltway and back to Tennessee

Let rule of law, let order never fail
One land, one voice; Constitution prevails
One man will lead; one victor to anoint
At last we'll see just where the arrows point
