(I've been wondering where all my friends were this past week...)
NOBODY'S HOME
(To the tune of "Nobody's Home," from the Kansas
album Point of Know Return)
It's empty now; no friendly face
And no one hears the bell
The "Star Wars" fans who own this place
Have bought their tickets well
So far I've come to find there's no one here, both far and near
They're all in line for "Star Wars One"
And nobody's home
I came to call, perhaps to chat,
But I can tell, somehow
The friends whose door I'm standing at
Are camping out downtown
Across the neighborhood to say hello, but now I know
They're still in line for "Star Wars One"
And nobody's home
The op'ning day has come and gone
The reviews have been read
The world, once more, begins to run
Like waking from the dead
For those who camped out here no longer lurk; they're back at work
Just three more years 'til "Star Wars Two"...
