DEATH OF FATHER CHRISTMAS SUITE
(To the tune of "Death of Mother Nature Suite," from the Kansas album Kansas)

Every year it gets a little bleaker
The wonder we once knew has come and gone
"Christmas Day" is owned by corporations
Its magic held by those who buy and sell
And now it's gonna die

Sugar plums give way to guns and weapons
Saint Nicholas is banished to the past
But when kids shoot kids with nary e'en a reason,
We realize their childhood has been lost
And now it's gonna die

Once the Yuletide Day meant joy and gladness
But we grew up too fast to live that way
With greed and lust, we turned it into "business"
The innocence of youth must be reclaimed
Or else it's gonna die
