CLINTON ANTHEM
(To the tune of "Cheyenne Anthem," from the Kansas album Leftoverture)

From my home to Washington
I was only having fun
Misled this land and sold my soul for my own ends
I was only having fun

Here my spokesmen work the press
Dodging questions 'bout that dress
Where the words of all my lawyers hide the truth
And the polls soothe my distress, my distress

You have come to move me, to take me from my White House home
Town of my hero; I can't leave you now
I will bargain with you; no man's perfect, after all
Now the wheels are rolling; I hear the damning words of Starr
It's my legacy to fight and lie
But is there no solution?  Can we find no other way?
Lott, let me stay!
Before the public eye and the bright lights' glow;
This I was born to win, and I will never go, oh no

But we cannot endure like the Reaper and taxes
Power is not ours to keep as the scandal climaxes*

Soon my term shall pass away
For my lying I must pay
All my words and deeds are carried on the Web
In the dust my morals lay; there they'll stay

Monica kept cracking up on the second line)
